Every
product (task, project, question etc.) must have a
target audience it is catered to. A clear target audience can be found by evaluating the product and assigning a
profile to it.
Questions to ask when getting a profile
- Personality - What personality type would take interest in the product?
- Demographic - What demographic as a whole does it appeal to?
- Interests - Hobbies and specialties that the audience enjoy?
- Traits - Is a certain culture or type of background involved?
- Age - What age group would take interest in the product? Children? Adults? OAPs?
- Gender - Does it appeal to a more masculine or feminine audience?
- Ethnic Group - Is it targeted toward people of a certain country / race (and more importantly, is it appropriate)?
- Job / Career - Would people in a certain career take interest?
- Likes and Dislikes - Who would like the topic of the product, and who would not?
